Cellulite Before And After

Tissues containing fat, usually situated on the backs of the thighs, stomach and buttocks are called cellulites and are mainly found in women. Although rarer, men can also suffer with cellulites which are normally seen as areas that appear to be a lighter shade than the rest of the skin. A person with good circulation will have an even and smooth layer of skin but in a person with cellulites, fats become stored, along with other toxin, under the skin when under normal circumstances they would be flushed out. These tissues harden and thicken, producing cellulites, bumpy lines in the skin often referred to as the ‘orange peel’ effect.

How these cellulites will look and form depends on the individual’s genetic make-up, the type of life they lead and their weight. Strangely there are different types of cellulites and being overweight is only one of the causes of cellulite as active and fit women can also suffer and it is found in the muscles of active women such as dancers and athletes. It’s the hard or solid cellulites that cause problems and are hard to remove as they are attached directly to the muscles. The soft cellulites on the other hand are more easily identified because they are closer to the surface of the skin and considerably easier to remove.

It is women who suffer the most from cellulite and this can start anytime after their 14th birthday and will usually get worse with age. The contraceptive pill has been linked with acquiring cellulites, as has giving birth and suffering from an injury.

Cellulite Before And After...

Exercise and diet are still almost uniformly believed to be the best way to eradicate cellulites because exercise is particularly effective at improving the circulation and usually helps reduce the appearance of the cellulites. Although all types exercise can help, it is the diet that needs to be more specific; one that is detoxifying and contains plenty of fruit and vegetables. Try to eat more wholegrain foods but avoid wherever possible the likes of coffee and soft fizzy drinks.

It is believed by some that spicy foods may contribute much in the appearance of cellulites but so far this appears to be untested and so not proved. The same cannot be said for those other two toxin laden commodities, alcohol and smoking which should be avoided. Whilst a low fat diet is always preferably for health, reducing the intake of fatty foods helps reduce the enlargement of the cellulites because fat is harder to digest and more difficult to remove from your body.

Whilst cellulite creams have some success at preventing the cellulites formation and growth, they cannot as yet, remove cellulites from the tissue altogether. The creams that contain alpha-hydroxyl acid improve the elasticity of the skin making the cellulites less obvious but do not actually remove the cellulites. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less visible as it removes toxins in the body as well as fat and also aids in proper digestion and blood circulation.
