Cellulite Surgery

Often referred to as skin with an ‘orange peel’ effect, losing this cellulite is not that easy as the fat cells under the skin are inside the tissue and are difficult to eradicate. Although not life threatening, losing cellulite is the aim of any woman (or man) that sufferers with it and of course it tends to get worse with age. Cellulite treatments are plentiful but losing cellulite is not easy and once you have removed it, certain aspects of your lifestyle must change to ensure it doesn’t return.

Cellulite is more usual on women than men mainly due to the way muscle, connective tissue and fat are distributed in the skin, and as far as women are concerned those areas are the thighs, buttocks and tummy. Men generally tend to have lower amounts of body fat, whilst women have higher amounts. The female hormone, estrogen, plays an important role in the formation, and one of the causes of cellulite because it stimulates the storage of fat, which is needed for menstruation, pregnancy, and lactation.

There are other causes of cellulite including being overweight, although this is not a direct reason but it can make the cellulite worse. Another reason is pregnancy as a woman’s body goes through a number of changes during this period including weight gain, water retention and an increase in fat deposits.

Cellulite Surgery...

Most experts agree that the best way of losing cellulite is a low calorie balanced diet with food that has high fiber content and to increase the amount of exercise taken. One simple cellulite treatment is the use of a tanning bed because the darker the skin the less noticeable the cellulite is. Where cellulite is a hormonal problem, and probably the most common cause; losing cellulite through diet and exercise may not be sufficient. Apart from healthy eating habits and exercise, cellulite treatment comprising of a massage, special cellulite burning creams, water therapy and giving up smoking will all help in losing cellulite.

A more extreme method of cellulite treatment is liposuction for example, which removes accumulated fats from the muscles surgically and in this process a suction pump is allowed to penetrate through small incisions made on the skin. This suction breaks through the deposited fats, massages the affected area with rollers attached and the connective fibers that hold fats, until the toxins and water are expelled. Liposuction is a method of losing cellulite that is effective but unless you maintain healthy habits afterwards, it can return and often in different areas.

Cellulite is neither a medical condition nor a life threatening illness but does bring misery to many women and is normally an indication of an unhealthy lifestyle. So once the cause of cellulite has been ascertained in a person then it should be easy to work out what cellulite treatment will be the most efficient in losing cellulite permanently.
