Exercise Reduce Cellulite

Cellulites are fat tissues found in certain areas of the body, mainly, but not exclusively, the thighs, abdominal area and buttocks in women. Men can have cellulites too although they are usually whiter or several shades lighter than their normal skin color. When there is fluid in the layers of skin, it becomes a problem because stored fats and other toxins become trapped and do not get flushed out unlike a person with good circulation who will have smooth skin. These tissues harden and thicken, producing cellulites, bumpy lines in the skin often referred to as the ‘orange peel’ effect.

How these cellulites will look and form depends on the individual’s genetic make-up, the type of life they lead and their weight. Having said that even active women can get cellulite and it can be found even in the muscles of fit individuals, including dancers and athletes because there are different types of cellulites so being overweight is only one reason for having the problem. The hard cellulites attach themselves directly to the muscle tissue and are the hardest to remove. Soft cellulites, however, are much more obvious and may even appear to sag from the skin surface and whist they occur in larger, muscle areas, they are usually easily removed.

It is women who suffer the most from cellulite and this can start anytime after their 14th birthday and will usually get worse with age. Often, cellulites occur because a woman has started taking the contraceptive pill or has just given birth and even people who have suffered from injuries can develop cellulites.

Exercise Reduce Cellulite...

Having the correct diet and plenty of exercise is still believed to be the best way to control cellulites as exercise will improve the circulation which in turn improves the appearance of the skin. Whilst exercise is good, it works better when working in conjunction with a detoxifying diet which should include plenty of fruits and vegetables. Try to eat more wholegrain foods but avoid wherever possible the likes of coffee and soft fizzy drinks.

Although so far unproven, it is considered by some that spicy foods may also help contribute to the formation of cellulites. However, the same cannot be said for smoking and alcohol which should be avoided as both help in the build-up of toxins in the body. Although cellulites are not necessarily formed by a high fat diet fat is difficult to flush out of the system and can contribute to the cellulites formation so a low-fat diet is preferable.

Whilst cellulite creams have some success at preventing the cellulites formation and growth, they cannot as yet, remove cellulites from the tissue altogether. The creams work by making the skin more elastic and contain alpha-hydroxyl acid which doesn’t actually remove the cellulite but helps to hide it. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less visible as it removes toxins in the body as well as fat and also aids in proper digestion and blood circulation.
