Fat Cellulite

Cellulites are normally but not exclusively found on women and are tissues containing fat usually around the thighs, stomach and buttocks. Although rarer, men can also suffer with cellulites which are normally seen as areas that appear to be a lighter shade than the rest of the skin. A person with good circulation will have an even and smooth layer of skin but in a person with cellulites, fats become stored, along with other toxin, under the skin when under normal circumstances they would be flushed out. The tissues with the stored fats and toxins become hard over time producing the bumpy ‘orange peel’ effect called cellulites.

The appearance of the cellulites will depend upon each person’s genetics, their lifestyle and the weight of the individual, all of which are factors in cellulite formation. Having said that even active women can get cellulite and it can be found even in the muscles of fit individuals, including dancers and athletes because there are different types of cellulites so being overweight is only one reason for having the problem. The hard cellulites attach themselves directly to the muscle tissue and are the hardest to remove. The easier cellulites to see are the soft type and whilst they are more unsightly as they may appear to hang from the skin and affect larger muscle areas, they are considerably easier to remove.

It is women who suffer the most from cellulite and this can start anytime after their 14th birthday and will usually get worse with age. The contraceptive pill has been linked with acquiring cellulites, as has giving birth and suffering from an injury.

Fat Cellulite...

Exercise and diet are still almost uniformly believed to be the best way to eradicate cellulites because exercise is particularly effective at improving the circulation and usually helps reduce the appearance of the cellulites. From the diet standpoint, eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and working with a detoxifying diet, improves the chances of the cellulites disappearing. Whole grain foods are also greatly recommended but foods that should be avoided include regular favorites such as coffee and soft drinks.

Some people believe that eating spicy foods contributes to the cellulites formation but no specific proof that this is the case has so far been brought to light. The build up of toxins in the body can also be avoided by not drinking alcohol or smoking. Whilst a low fat diet is always preferably for health, reducing the intake of fatty foods helps reduce the enlargement of the cellulites because fat is harder to digest and more difficult to remove from your body.

Whilst cellulite creams have some success at preventing the cellulites formation and growth, they cannot as yet, remove cellulites from the tissue altogether. The creams work by making the skin more elastic and contain alpha-hydroxyl acid which doesn’t actually remove the cellulite but helps to hide it. Water, whether drunk or in therapy form is good for the skin as it removes toxins and fats from the system, improving the circulation and digestion, effectively rendering the cellulites less visible.
