The Cellulite Solution
Cellulites are normally but not exclusively found on women and are tissues containing fat usually around the thighs, stomach and buttocks. Men can have cellulites too although they are usually whiter or several shades lighter than their normal skin color. Normally, with good circulation, a person will have smooth skin layers, but when there is fluid in the layers, the stored fats, and other chemical toxins do not get flushed out of the system and become trapped within the skin. The tissues with the stored fats and toxins become hard over time producing the bumpy ‘orange peel’ effect called cellulites.
How these cellulites will look and form depends on the individual’s genetic make-up, the type of life they lead and their weight. Having said that even active women can get cellulite and it can be found even in the muscles of fit individuals, including dancers and athletes because there are different types of cellulites so being overweight is only one reason for having the problem. The cellulites that cause the most problems are the hard or solid types because they attach themselves to the muscles and often affect more active persons. Soft cellulites, however, are much more obvious and may even appear to sag from the skin surface and whist they occur in larger, muscle areas, they are usually easily removed.
Unfortunately, it’s women who are most often the ones with cellulite problems and they can start anytime after they turn 14 years of age plus as they grow older, the affected areas become larger. Cellulites have been linked to the contraceptive pill or when a woman has given birth and sometimes it may even be triggered by an accident or injury.
The Cellulite Solution...
Improving the circulation with exercise, combined with a healthy diet, will improve the appearance of cellulites and is still thought to be the best way to improve your cellulites condition. Whilst exercise is good, it works better when working in conjunction with a detoxifying diet which should include plenty of fruits and vegetables. Whole grain foods are also greatly recommended but foods that should be avoided include regular favorites such as coffee and soft drinks.
Some people believe that eating spicy foods contributes to the cellulites formation but no specific proof that this is the case has so far been brought to light. The build up of toxins in the body can also be avoided by not drinking alcohol or smoking. Whilst a low fat diet is always preferably for health, reducing the intake of fatty foods helps reduce the enlargement of the cellulites because fat is harder to digest and more difficult to remove from your body.
Although they cannot completely get rid of cellulites, cellulite creams are quite successful in treating and hiding cellulite. The creams that contain alpha-hydroxyl acid improve the elasticity of the skin making the cellulites less obvious but do not actually remove the cellulites. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less visible as it removes toxins in the body as well as fat and also aids in proper digestion and blood circulation.
